A new and exciting opportunity has become available to join our team as Community Ambassador to be part of our Regional Development and Engagement division, reporting directly to the Head of nbn Local TAS as part of this business unit.
A bit about the role

The Community Ambassador role sits in the Regional Development and Engagement business unit at nbn.  This team has been designed to lift the digital capability of regional Australia and includes increasing community understanding and awareness, positivity of nbn and it’s brand.
This role works closely with the relevant nbn Regional Community Affairs Lead in the region to help identify, prioritise and execute opportunities. The Community Ambassador is also expected to own the relationship with key regional contacts that support the delivery of presentations including community development organisations and multi-cultural organisation contacts.

The focus of your role will be to:
  • Work closely with Regional Community Affairs Lead and Head Of function to develop an understanding of regional priorities and opportunities to ensure alignment across whole of region
  • Implement targeted community engagement approaches to identify and develop relationships with community groups to drive awareness with presentations
  • Support delivery of the local community engagement program through other activities that support the delivery of nbn objectives as directed. These include markets, expos, and other relevant functions, as well as identification of case studies and advocates
  • Engage and collaborate with internal nbn teams to ensure an integrated approach to community engagement
  • Collaborate across the nbn local team to review, report and analyse the success of campaigns and community engagement activities.
A bit about you
  • To be successful in this role, you will be located in the Launceston region as your target area will be Launceston & surrounds.
  • You will have experience working in a complex stakeholder environment ideally within in the telecommunications or construction industries.
  • Ideally, you will have gained exposure working with regional, rural and remote businesses and communities to be able to confidently influence and engage these particular audiences. You will have a proven ability to interact with people at all levels effectively, accompanied by your knowledge on how to plan, coordinate and follow through on projects.
  • You enjoy presenting to large community audiences where you are required to address and simplify specific topics for ease of understanding in which you do so with confidence and professionalism. In order to engage and build strong relationships, your verbal and written communication skills will be highly advanced for the intent of delivering to a wide range of stakeholders. Finally, your existing experience of working in a large enterprise dealing with high levels of complexity will see you succeed in this role.
  • An understanding of nbn Products and Process is highly desirable in this role.
  • The role includes a company car for business use only, as such, you will require a current driver’s license.
