Tennis Australia is on the lookout for our next generation of passionate and enthusiastic Tennis Coaches to join our Tennis World team at Launceston.

Through our new National Coaching Pathway Program primarily aimed at aspiring coaches or undergraduate students, we are offering 10 casual coaching positions to students with a desire to work in sport and be trained in the field of tennis coaching.

Selected students will have the opportunity to learn from some of the best coaches in the country in one of our world class Tennis World facilities. As a Tennis Australia employee, students will have the opportunity to explore various career pathways within our sport and apply for internship opportunities in areas such as High Performance, Facility Management, Business Operations and Marketing, along with endless opportunities to be a part of the Australian Open each year.

About the role

Reporting into the Head Coach (at the relevant venue), in this role you will:

  • Ensure the effective delivery of all Tennis World coaching programs
  • Actively engage with students to promote a quality and enriched coaching experience
  • Provide effective communication to coaching participants both on and off the court
  • Ability or willingness to get involved in all programs including Hot Shots, Junior Programs, High Performance, Private Lessons, Holiday camps and tournaments.
  • Maintain our high standards of customer service both on and off the court
  • Be a team player and proactive contributor at all team meetings and training sessions
  • Coach on court for a minimum of 15 hours per week

About you

What you will bring to the role

  • Teaching and Sports Coaching experience
  • Tennis Coaching experience (desirable)
  • Experience working with all ages and abilities (e.g. pre-schoolers through to adults)
  • Good knowledge of Tennis, and the Tennis Australia vision
  • Highly effective organisational and communication skills.
  • Good understanding of Tennis products and brands, in particular Racquets and string specifications
  • Proven knowledge of technique and on-court decision-making strategies
  • Ability to manage, evaluate and relate to personnel and players
  • You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
