Communities, Sport and Recreation - Tasmanian Institute of Sport (TIS) - Sports Programs

$96,100.00 to $108,822.00 pro rata, per annum plus superannuation

Lead and oversee Hockey Australia’s National Athlete Pathway Program (NAPP) within Tasmania to ensure that athletes are well prepared to contribute to the Hockey Australia National Pathway if selected and to provide technical direction within Tasmania for players to progress towards National and State goals.

Deliver a quality high performance daily training environment and program for nationally identified hockey athletes within Tasmania ensuring that Hockey Australia’s strategies are embedded within the program related to technical skill development, “Way of Play”, high performance culture and standards of the National Athlete Pathway Program.

We are seeking candidates with:

  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of Hockey Australia’s strategic and high performance plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement programs for developmental, talented and high performance athletes in the sport of hockey in conjunction with other specialised coaching and sports performance consultants, and have an established coaching philosophy, including established values and standards of behaviour for athletes and staff.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable Requirements: 3 or more years’ experience coaching in a high performance/high performance hockey pathways environment; Current Driver’s Licence; Current First Aid Certificate

Essential Requirements: Hockey Coaching Accreditation - Minimum level 2., Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (Employment type)

This opportunity is offered on a fixed term, full time basis for a period of 3 years.
