The role of General Manager (Biosecurity Tasmania) is an exciting senior leadership opportunity to lead and manage the Biosecurity Tasmania Division in delivering biosecurity services across Tasmania, in partnership with the community and industry.

The General Manager (Biosecurity Tasmania) will:

  • Work closely with the Deputy Secretary to provide strategic and operational expertise across the biosecurity continuum.
  • Provide specialist advice to the Deputy Secretary, Secretary and Ministers on a range of issues within the biosecurity portfolio.
  • Lead the whole of government coordination of the State’s biosecurity emergency preparedness, response and recovery.
  • Develop and implement biosecurity policy, projects and programs to support key Government priorities.
  • Represent the Department on a range of high-level State and National forums.

To succeed in this role, you will be an accomplished leader, an outstanding communicator with excellent stakeholder engagement skills and have a natural ability to influence and engage at all levels.

Relevant tertiary qualifications are desired or demonstration of an equivalent level of skills together with a proven record of management in a large private or public sector organisation.
