North West Regional Hospital is seeking experienced applicants for the role of Clinical Facilitator - Undergraduate Support

The Nursing education team works collaboratively to provide education and training in a whole of organisation approach, including a commitment to provide quality undergraduate clinical placements to grow a strong local nursing workforce. This role is pivotal in supporting students apply theory to the practice setting and grow in competence. The Clinical Facilitator will work collaboratively with the Lead Facilitator to support nursing students across the organisation. This role would suit a registered nurse with good medical and/or surgical nursing experience, with an interest in educating and growing our next generation of nurses.

The North West Regional Hospital, Burnie is a 160 bed facility and is the principal referral centre for the North West Tasmanian community and provides general medicine, surgical (including orthopaedic), intensive care, cancer services, paediatric services, outpatient clinics and specialist services. The hospital has close ties with the University of Tasmania through the Rural Clinical School and with TAFE Tasmania thus providing opportunities for comprehensive clinical training programs.

Permanent Day Worker position working 48 hours per fortnight

Salary: $85,950 - $91,807 + 9.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Nursing Education and Research, the focus of duties of this role are:

  • to apply nursing expertise and contemporary teaching and learning practice to facilitate the learning of students and nurse preceptors and extend education support to the nursing workforce according to clinical need
  • model commitment to professional values, including open communication to build respectful relationships across the multidisciplinary team, accountability, integrity, and contribute to positive workplace culture.

Essential Requirements

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse / Enrolled Nurse.
  • Current Driver's licence
  • Current Tasmanian Working with Children Check
  • Pre-employment checks as outlined in the Statement of Duties

Desirable Requirements:

  • Progressing towards Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/or relevant post graduate qualifications.
  • More than 4-years’ experience as a registered nurse.
  • Experience as a preceptor of student nurses.
