About the Role

UGL is looking for an experienced and motivated Contracts Manager to join our Capital Delivery Office (CDO) with TasWater. The purpose of the TasWater CDO is to build the capability and capacity of TasWater to fulfil its customer promises for improved service levels by efficiently and effectively delivering an accelerated capital program of works.

The TasWater CDO will deliver:
Opportunities for people to grow and develop
Economic benefits and growth opportunities for local industry
Improved safety outcomes
Capacity and capability to transition the program back to TasWater post-TasWater CDO
The necessary framework for emergent projects

As the Contracts Manager you will be accountable for:
Providing direction and control to the contracts administration function, overseeing estimating to ensure contracts are met within cost estimates and are administered efficiently. You will manage both the head contact and sub-contract documentation, obligations and project legal requirements.

Direct and organise control of all cost engineering, cost reporting and forecasting;
Conduct negotiations with subcontractors and ensure all subcontractor agreements are closely aligned to the project’s risk management principals;
Oversee the procurement process for all subcontract and supply agreements to ensure that all packages are awarded on time and within budget;
Lead the identification and quantification of Head Contract Scope changes and all subsequent negotiations with the Client; and
Oversee the preparation of monthly progress claims for work completed and approve disputed progress payments to subcontractors as referred by contract administrators.

About You

Relevant experience working as a Contracts Manager in the construction and engineering industry;
Bachelor degree or equivalent in Law, Commerce, Accounting, Quantity Surveying, Business or associated disciplines;
Negotiation of contractual terms, variations and progress claims; and
Demonstrated application of Corporate Limits of Liabilities and contractual and commercial systems, processes and procedures.
