Administrative Support Officer - Federal Government Contract

About the agency
This Federal Government Agency is an independent prosecution service whose core function is to provide effective, ethical and independent criminal prosecution. Their work has a direct impact on social justice system and in this role, you will contribute to delivering exceptional Administrative Support to this important Government Agency. This agency has a great team culture and excellent office locations in Hobart.

About the role

You will use a range of administrative, legal and practice management systems to complete a variety of administrative tasks for legal cases. You will build rapport, maintain interanal and external relationships and engage in learning and development activities as required. You will be part of a group and work effectively in a team to achieve the work. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, team player with experience in a variety of admin based roles to join this team.

Your duties:
You will be a key team member who will support the administrative requirements of the legal team including: creation of case files, photocopying, filing, data entry, general administration and record management.
In this role you will assist Witness Co-ordination by drafting subpoenas, liaising with witnesses regarding feedback, travel and conferences.
You will be a key contributor to Case Preparation by preparing materials, filing and lodging documents, arranging video conferences and interpreting and translating documents
You will have Case Liaison opportunities where you will liaise with Federal Prosecutors, external agencies and counsel

What you will bring to the role

Previous experience in the Legal or Government space is essential for this opportunity
Proven ability to consistently provide accurate Administrative Support is essential
A proven ability to handle high volume workloads including high volumes of photocopying, folder collation and creation
Experience in booking and coordinating Video and Face-to-face meetings and conferences
An ability to quickly learn and adapt to new IT systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Please note, in this role you will be dealing with confronting and complex legal matters that you will need to be comfortable with.

You must be an Australian Citizen and hold, or be eligible to clear, a Baseline Security Clearance to be successful in this role
