The role:
Responsible for the day to day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the allocated site/facility. Provide after-hours emergency as determined by the relevant work unit.

The hospital:
The Tasmanian Health Service - North West Region encompasses two hospitals, the North West Regional Hospital in Burnie and the Mersey Community Hospital in Latrobe. We are currently seeking applications for Unaccredited Medical Registrars at Mersey Community Hospital.

The Mersey Community Hospital (MCH) Medical Department has 34 acute beds, a 12 bed Rehabilitation Unit and a 4 bed Palliative Care Unit.

Our registrars are actively involved in ward rounds and patient assessment and management and find they are well prepared for further registrar training opportunities.

The North-West Coast is a beautiful and accessible part of Tasmania with the opportunity for work life balance above what is afforded in larger cities.

Details of Appointment:
Fixed Term Full Time set roster position working 80 hours per fortnight

Salary: $91,442-$129,391 per annum + 9.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging

Access to the salary range $115,053-$129,391 is subject to successful assessment at the Qualification Assessment Point
Applicants should note that, for a period of six months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements).
