Ridley has recently built a state-of-the-art extrusion plant in Australia based in Westbury, Tasmania. We now have an exciting opportunity on offer for an experienced Maintenance Mechanical Tradesperson.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this is a key role within the Site Operations team and is responsible for maintaining all operating equipment in the condition to deliver full design duty (reliability). Ensures plant and equipment run properly when it is required for operation (availability). Correct plant equipment and machines when the design duty cannot be achieved and then return them to design specification (capability).

Key responsibilities for this position include:
Comply with relevant OHS/WHS legislation
Coordinates maintenance activities with the Operations team
Duties may involve fabrication; welding; machining; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing plant and buildings
Ensure timely response to emergency breakdowns (including Call Out)
Implements programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness. (5S)
Maintain assets most profitably for the life of the organization. (life cycle profit)
Assists Maintains a computerised maintenance management system (Guardian) for tracking work orders, spare parts and maintenance history of plant equipment.
Conduct preventative maintenance, modification and repairs on all general plant and equipment to enable efficient and safe operation
Makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems. Active participant in the CI program.
Ensures that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
Assists in the Coordination of capital projects, liaising with Engineering Services Manager and relevant Project Managers.
Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
Monitors the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary.
Any other responsibilities and/or authorities as specifically designated by the Maintenance Manager or Delegate.

The key skills/experience required for this role include:
5+years Industry Experience (History working with manufacturing and maintenance teams) (essential)
Qualified Mechanical trade (essential)
BI boiler licence (desirable)
Forklift licence (HRW) (desirable)
Restricted electrical licence (desirable)
Sound knowledge of OH&S and Environmental Policies and Legislation.
Current drivers licence
Sound computer skills - Microsoft Office, AX and Guardian programs will be used.
Effective communication skills
Relevant tickets to perform tasks
