The Opportunity

At the University of Tasmania, the People Solutions Centre is a team of experienced People and Wellbeing Business Partner’s who operates as a centre of excellence and the integration point for delivering multi-function HR services and support and providing organisational reporting and analytics. The team specialises in advising and interpreting HR policies and programs, resolving issues and developing solutions, and connects managers to the appropriate area of expertise.

This role will play a key role in instilling a people-centred approach to how the University and our people managers engage with our employees. This will be achieved through the coaching and mentoring of the People Solutions team and assisting in the development and implementation of a contemporary HR service delivery model.

Key Accountabilities:
Assist in the leading the development, implementation and management of the service delivery model for the People Solutions Centre, with a particular focus on how People Managers are supported to manage people issues.
Provide high level support in the day-to-day management and operations of the People Manager Solutions Centre.
Partner with People Managers in the resolution of their people issues with a focus on developing and coaching the People Manager.
Work in partnership with management teams to initiate and build partnerships to understand and effectively respond to people management needs.
Provide timely and professional HR advice, guidance services and solutions to assigned people managers on a range of strategic, operational and procedural HR management policies, practices and employment related issues.

Your Application

To be successful in the role, your application will need to demonstrate;

Demonstrated extensive professional HR experience in large and/or complex organisations, or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience.
Proven passion for and ability to build, coach and mentor a high-performing, agile team that is customer and solutions focussed, and who have a learning and improvement mindset.
A deep understanding of, and the ability to translate, the relevant University employment frameworks, policies, procedures, systems and processes with the ability to identify the root cause and create the best outcome. This includes the prioritization and ownership of efficiently managing issues to closure.
Ability to coach people managers for career development, expectation setting and resetting, performance improvement and exit if appropriate.
Ability to discover root cause issues to organization performance. This includes the ability to discover, diagnose with emotional intelligence as well as deriving deep insights from data and analytics.

Remuneration

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 9 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $137,901 comprising base salary within the range of $111,825 to $117,864 plus 17% superannuation.
