Hours/Period of Appointment

Permanent, full time, day work (not working weekends but working public holidays) 76 hours per fortnight to commence from 25 July 2021. Notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.

The Clinical Coordinator - Community Nursing is an advanced clinical practice role with responsibility for coordinating the provision of safe and efficient clinical care across a broad community practice setting. The occupant will monitor the team’s clinical load, and provide clinical expertise in the management of more complex cases. In conjunction with the Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) the Clinical Coordinator - Community Nursing:

  • Provides clinical leadership and coordination of patient care for the nursing teams within Launceston Community Nursing.
  • Supports the efficient and effective coordination of client care based upon National Standards and best practice using a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework by coordinating and providing surveillance of clinical care, including monitoring clinical competencies.
  • Provides support, encouragement and actively participate in the personal and professional development of nursing staff.
  • Contributes to service development by assisting the Nurse Unit Manager – Launceston Community Nursing to achieve best practice outcomes and service delivery improvements for the nursing team.

Essential Requirements

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

1. Conviction checks in the following areas:a) Crimes of Violence
b) Sex Related Offences
c) Serious Drug Offences
d) Crimes involving dishonesty
e) Serious traffic offences
2. Identification check
3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
Desirable Requirements

  • Relevant post graduate qualifications.
