Hours per fortnight

Duties
  1. Provide high level advice and guidance to senior management, managers and staff on a broad range of human resource matters with a focus on managing employees, job design and classification, establishment management, recruitment and selection and work, health and safety.
  2. Provide employee case management service including advice and support to manager in relation to return to work and redeployment arrangements.
  3. Develop, review and implement policies, procedures, practices and systems that give effect to legislative requirements and business initiatives and conduct information sessions for senior management, managers and staff on a broad range of human resource matters.
  4. Respond to complex queries, conduct and coordinate investigations, reviews and projects and prepare high level correspondence, reports and recommendations.
  5. Research, investigate, analyse and evaluate human resource management information and provide recommendations, reports and interpretative and solution focused advice.
  6. Liaise and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders in relation to human resource matters including matters relating to industrial agreements and issues. Represent the department at tribunals.
  7. Lead and manage human resource staff through effective induction, training, development, workload and performance management to foster and maintain a professional and motivated team where service excellence is valued and encouraged. Mentor less experienced staff.
  8. Participate and contribute to human resource management forums and represent the Department on committees and undertake high level liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
  9. The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties, not specifically mentioned in this document, that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this classification level.
