Hours/Period of Appointment

Permanent, full time, shift work working 76 hours per fortnight to commence as soon as possible. Notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Note: This selection process may be used to fill casual roles if applicable.


The Registered Nurse - Clinical Coach:
• Strengthens health outcomes through the provision of safe, quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in partnerships with patients/clients, their families, and other health professionals within the Service.
• Contributes to positive client outcomes by facilitating and assessing the competence and confidence of clinicians namely Nurses and Assistants in Nursing (AIN’s) via clinical coaching within the casual and permanent pool.
• Contribute to workplace activities and works collaboratively in assisting and supporting the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) in achieving the goals of the service by contributing to workplace activities beyond the immediate responsibility of delivering clinical care to clients. This will include the Clinical Coach Portfolio, with active involvement in clinical education; clinical leadership and management; safety and quality; and practice development.

Location: Nursing Services, Launceston General Hospital

Essential Requirements

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
  • Refer to SoD for further essential requirements
  • The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

1. Conviction checks in the following areas:a) Crimes of Violence
b) Sex Related Offences
c) Serious Drug Offences
d) Crimes involving dishonesty
2. Identification check

3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
Desirable Requirements

  • Possess or working towards Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/or relevant post graduate qualifications.
  • More than 2 years’ experience as a registered nurse, working across a diverse range of acute inpatient units.
