Liberty Bell Bay is Australia's only ferro-alloy producer, operating four arc furnaces and a Sinter Plant to produce high-carbon ferromanganese, silicomanganese and sinter.
About Bell BayThis role will be based at Bell Bay, 50km north of Launceston. About the roleWe are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to deliver outstanding mechanical engineering outcomes, including asset management, governance and technical stewardship and the provision of mechanical engineering technical support to Operations.

Other accountabilities include:

Provide mechanical engineering asset management leadership to site
Monitor resourcing levels to verify and ensure they are sufficient to deliver excellent Engineering outcomes
Ensure all work is well designed and reliably delivers safe outcomes through active controls
Define and maintain the basis of design for plant and equipment. Develop the plant and equipment life plans, capture the blueprint, develop and maintain maintenance strategies and manage the change process
Provide mechanical engineering technical support to Operations to improve reliability of plant and equipment, maintain asset integrity, resolve operational issues / problems and support investigations in compliance with technical standards
Interface with Principal Engineering expertise within regional engineering team for resolving complex plant related technical problems

About your experienceYou are a results focused individual with a strong focus on safety and quality. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both peers and supervisors.

You will also have:

Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering experience in heavy industry, smelting or refinery environment
Knowledge of asset management standard - ISO55000 is desirable
Well-practiced and mature understanding in the key elements of asset management, governance, standards and change control in Engineering function
Demonstrated ability to work within a flexible team environment
Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate and interact with a wide variety of people and build credibility
