About This Position

The Kingborough Community Hub is a striking building in the heart of Kingston Park and is a flexible facility for future changing demands. There is a multi-purpose community hall, meeting rooms, and covered town square, public amenities and storage. A café space has also been developed. The Hub hosts a variety of community and cultural activities, events and exhibitions. More details can be found at https://www.kingborough.tas.gov.au/development/kingston-park/

Our casual Event Assistants provide support with the setup, delivery, operation, and pack down of events held at the Kingborough Community Hub at Kingston. You will provide high level customer service to the facility hirers and undertake activities such as setup and pack down of equipment and infrastructure, site inductions for facility hirers and providing general technical support.

This role would suit someone looking to get into the Events industry. You must be available to work after business hours and on weekends. A first aid qualification and Working with Vulnerable People check are required.

Further details: This role offers a base hourly rate of $24.75 plus a 25% casual allowance. On weekends and after business hours, you will also receive penalty rates. For more information, please contact Carol Swards, Coordinator Community Services on 03 6211 8200.

Mandatory Requirements


1. Ability to work in a flexible and adaptable manner as part of a team.

2. The ability to provide high level customer service to a range of customers.

3. Good standard of physical fitness and manual handling skills necessary to undertake the requirements of the position. This includes the ability to use pallet jacks, chair trolleys, the bi- fold doors and other equipment.

4. Sound time management and organisational skills.


5. Current unrestricted motor vehicle driver’s licence.

6. Recognised first aid qualification (or the ability to obtain).

7. A Working with Vulnerable People (child related activity) check and a satisfactory National Police check.


8. Experience in event set up, delivery and pack down.
