Liberty Bell Bay is Australia's only ferro-alloy producer, operating four arc furnaces and a Sinter Plant to produce high-carbon ferromanganese, silicomanganese and sinter.
About Bell BayThis role will be based at Bell Bay, 50km north of Launceston. About the roleReporting to the Health, Safety, Environment and Community Manager, you will provide specialist support and advice to site-based teams on Health and Hygiene management aspects to support Liberty Bell Bay’s:

adherence to internal standards;
legal compliance and material-risk mitigation at the operational level; and
the delivery of the business plan, health authorisations and strategic improvement projects.

Other accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Management of Injury Management & Return to Work process in line with policy and legal requirements
Provide input into the strategic direction of the broader business with respect to health management to reduce long-term risk exposure, support legal compliance and promote enduring health outcomes
Design and execute hygiene monitoring programs ensuring that they are fit for purpose, aligned with regulatory requirements and the operational risk profile
Maintain process for the collection and verification of hygiene data relevant to the operation and undertake data analysis to enable emerging compliance and / or hygiene issues to be identified and actively managed
Analyse health data, including event management and assurance outcomes, to identify improvement opportunities relating to health standards, systems, processes and material risks
Support Liberty Bell Bay reporting processes (internal and external) in relation to health and hygiene management activities and initiatives
An overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development

About your experienceWe are looking for a Registered Nurse who is a highly motivated individual with a passion for providing proactive health and hygiene management across the site.

You will ideally have:

Experience in an Industrial based environment – not essential
A qualification in Occupational Hygiene is desirable or an interest in gaining training and qualifications in this area
Experience in Injury Management Coordination is ideal but not essential – training can be provided
Experience in identifying issues, analysing data and recommending sensible and practical improvement solutions
Demonstrated ability to influence small groups of internal stakeholders through effective data analysis and strong communication skills, both written and verbal
A strong internal and external customer service focus
