Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director, Academic Learning Services (ALS), the Special Projects Coordinator is responsible for the stewardship, planning, implementation and evaluation of special projects as initiated through the Academic Learning Services Department.

Responsibilities:
Project Management

Develops project plans and prepares communication documents, summarizing issues for the purpose of resolution.
Negotiates with staff in other departments to secure support and participation for large scale projects.

Marketing

Leads the development of content for a variety of web sites, events, social media and other marketing and communication requirements for the ALS departments.
Monitors all ALS resources to ensure information is accurate, current, impactful, and that it complies with Seneca’s policies and guidelines in addition to other relevant requirements.
Hires, trains and supervises WIL students to assist with social media posts.

Communication

Prepares training manuals, research and briefing notes, communications materials, presentations, letters and other correspondence on behalf of the Director and other Managers in Learning Services.
Administrative Support
Provides support to the Director, ALS to proactively manage changes in project scope, manages issues and ensures all team members are aware of any possible issues.

Qualifications:
Education
Minimum of a completed three (3) year diploma in Business, Communications or a closely related field.
Experience
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in social media and/or marketing content development in an academic setting.

Skills

Effective communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
