As a casual Delivery Driver working at one of our delivery centres leading into the State election, you are a safe motorist who loves being out on the road. It’s a highly-visible role; you start work from 7 am or before, where you’ll drive a vehicle safely and efficiently to pick up and deliver mail and parcel articles. Upon returning to our centres, you are part of the team where you may be operating a range of equipment to help you unload and prepare for the next day. You’ll have independence on the road, taking pride in providing a trusted service to our customers at a critical time in Tasmania.

More about this great community opportunity:
Driving vans safely and efficiently to pick up and deliver mail articles between operational centres and from customer premises when required.
Unloading mail articles from vans and sorting into either small or large letters, small and large parcels and express post, or interstate and overseas mail.
Operating loading/unloading equipment and unloading mail and parcel articles from vans where required.
Completion of relevant documentation associated with pick up and delivery of mail and parcel articles.
Sound knowledge of Tasmanian road rules and regulations and awareness of relevant road networks with the ability to interpret a street directory and aptitude to learn and recall geographical locations.
Proven professional and courteous attitude. As a visible Australia Post representative, Delivery Drivers must display courtesy whilst driving and in all contact with customers and members of the public.
Appropriate knowledge and awareness of Occupational Health and Safety relevant to the position.

Desired Skills and Experience:
Delivery drivers should hold a full and current Australian Drivers Licence.
Must be prepared to provide a current driving history immediately
Be prepared to attend a driving assessment from April 8th
Must be fully available Monday - Friday, from 7am, commencing from April 12th - April 30th for 7.21 hours / day
Must be able to lift up to 16kg of mail/parcels on a repetitive basis.
Be flexible for additional hours, changing shift times and changing locations.
Be customer focused and be able to work collaboratively with your team to deliver solutions.
Be fast and efficient.
