Period of employment / Hours:

Permanent full-time (73.50 hours per fortnight) day work (part-time hours may be considered by negotiation)

Communities, Sport and Recreation – Sport and Recreation Development - Statewide (**)

Note (**) - Specific work location to be negotiated with the successful applicant.


Primary Purpose / Focus :

As a member of the Sport and Recreation Development Team, the Project Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Providing high-level client management services, policy and project advice to the sport and recreation sector, including peak and state organisations. As a member of the Sport and Recreation branch, identifying and developing strategies to support and build the capacity of the sport and recreation sector.

Selection criteria includes:

  • Knowledge and experience in developing organisational capacity through assisting with the implementation of contemporary governance, strategic planning and safe, fair and inclusive environments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the sport and recreation sector, including an awareness of current state and national issues and trends with the ability to provide sound advice on sport and recreation issues, policies and projects.
  • Highly developed communication skills including the capacity to communicate accurately, clearly and succinctly both verbally and in writing, including presenting a case in support of recommendations, influencing others to a point of view and listening to others and responding appropriately

  • Relevant tertiary or industry recognised qualifications and affiliations.,

Essential Requirements:

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
