Period of employment / Hours:
Fixed term full-time day work (part-time hours may be considered by negotiation) commencing ASAP for a period of 2 years.

Communities, Sport & Recreation - Policy & Programs - Hobart

Primary Purpose / Focus :
As a member of the Policy and Programs team, the Industry Liaison Officer - Women’s Workforce Participation is responsible for:

Providing high-level support, policy and project advice to industry sectors seeking to enhance the recruitment, retention and engagement of women in their respective fields.
Providing advice to Government to inform decisions in relation to supporting women’s workforce participation

Selection criteria includes:
Knowledge and experience in developing organisational capacity through assisting external stakeholders with the implementation of strategic initiatives.
Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the capacity to liaise, establish and maintain relationships with a broad range of stakeholders within Government, and with industry and business, negotiate appropriate outcomes and resolve differences effectively.
Highly developed communication skills, including the capacity to communicate accurately, clearly and succinctly both verbally and in writing, including influencing others to a point of view and listening to others and responding appropriately

Desirable Requirements:
A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or experience to a similar level.

Essential Requirements:
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
a) crimes of violence
b) sex related offences
c) serious drug offences
d) crimes involving dishonesty
e) serious traffic offences (If Driver's License is an Essential Requirement )

3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
