Join the COVID-19 Public Information Unit

  • Campaign and Advertising Coordinator (band 5)
  • Public Information Assistant (band 4)

The Tasmanian Government’s COVID-19 Public Information Unit (PIU) needs two new team members to help ensure Tasmanians have the information they need to protect themselves and the community from COVID-19.

The PIU is part of the COVID-19 Coordination Centre and works alongside policy, planning, operation and health experts, all focused on Tasmania’s pandemic response.

The Unit coordinates the distribution of consistent, timely and accessible information from across government to the public.

The Campaign and Advertising Coordinator will lead the Government’s behavioural and information campaigns, including the Keep on Top campaign, and be part of strategic communications planning across other key projects, such as the COVID-19 Tasmanian Vaccination Program.

The Public Information Assistant will support all aspects of the unit’s work, from advertising to web publishing, social media management, copywriting and working with providers such as photographers and creative agencies.

As the pandemic response is a whole-of-government effort, PIU team members collaborate with officers across all Tasmanian Government agencies and liaise with key community stakeholders to help information reach all corners of Tasmania.

These roles suit creative thinkers and hard workers, who want to join a passionate team that is driven by wanting to deliver the best possible results for the community.

Both positions involve being part of an on-call roster, alongside other team members, and are fixed-term to 31 December 2021.

Find out more by contacting PIU Manager Warwick Brennan on 0438 042 610.
