The Payroll and Finance officer is responsible for the coordination and management of the payroll function, in collaboration with Frontier (outsource provider), for the MyState Limited Group companies. The role maintains a sound knowledge of payroll requirements and best practice and participates in the development of policy and procedure. We are seeking someone to join the team on a part time basis, for a 12 month contract.

The role provides appropriate backup and support for the Group Finance and Regulatory Reporting team in respect to miscellaneous accounting processes where the need arises.

The Payroll & Finance Officer will:

· Oversee the outsourced payroll function, ensuring an accurate and timely processing of payroll

· Ensure employee records are maintained to meet organisational and statutory requirements

· Provide timely and accurate advice to managers and employees on payroll and finance matters

· Distribution and preparation of payroll reports

· Develop internal controls and maintain documented procedures for the payroll function

The successful applicant will have:

· A high degree of knowledge of the banking/financial services industry

· A sound degree of knowledge of accounting and finance (desirable)

· A sound degree of knowledge of Chris 21 and payroll processes (desirable)

· The ability to develop and maintain policies, procedures and relevant documentation

· Strong computer modelling and numeracy skills

· Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data and reports

· High level written and verbal skills
