About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer this newly created position will be responsible for developing and overseeing a consistent Work Health and Safety culture with influence in all segments of Bennett’s Petroleum Supplies

The Compliance Manager will ensure the company functions in a legal and ethical manner while meeting its business goals.

The candidate we seek will create and maintain compliance programs, review company policies, and advise management on possible risks that require mitigation.

Key Tasks include 

  • Coordinate WHS activities for the company across the three business divisions, being an effective interface. 
  • Monitors company compliance to statutory, legislative, and licensing requirements regarding WHS, reporting regularly to management.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures in the logistics health and safety system - Operating Performance System are actioned and kept up to date with business and legislative requirements. 
  • Regularly audit the operations preventative and reactive maintenance system on company assets. Focus on contactor accreditation, compliance, and performance. With focus on industry specific WPCG accreditation along with Hot/Cold work permitting. Report submitted to COO.
  • Ensure Operations employees obtain and maintain necessary accreditation to perform their role.
  • Effective risk management on company operations 
  • Incident Investigation, including corrective action plan and implementation of highlighted tasks.
  • Conducting inspections, audits, hazard analyses and risk assessments on all sites including within Safety Management Systems (OPS - Logistics) (ROPS - Retail).
  • Ensuring all current accreditations are maintained and those beneficial to the company and employees are highlighted to management and obtained. 
  • Develop and host Logistics bimonthly toolbox meetings.
  • Develop and maintain a safety training program that is specific to the roles completed by our employees.

  • Understand standards and legislation - be able to highlight possible gaps and implement change.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Certificate IV Work Health and Safety.
  • A current Driver’s Licence.
