The opportunity?

We are currently seeking professional, customer focused Hiab Medium & Heavy Rigid drivers for an exciting new contract with one of the leading suppliers to tradies in the building and construction industry.

You will be delivering quality building and trade supplies from their Launceston facility to sites across the greater North East region.

Although these positions will initially be casual there will be an opportunity to transition to fulltime for the right candidates.

Overall purpose of the job:

As a Hiab driver for this contract you will be required to perform multiple drops along an assigned route in a timely, efficient and safe manner. You will have strong customer service skills and be physically fit to ensure you are able to cope with the manual handling required in a safe manner.

These positions require a person who is a competent driver with the ability to work efficiently without direct supervision whilst outside the depot. 

A sound knowledge of freight handling and Hiab Truck driving experience is essential.

These positions carry a responsibility for all aspects of Road Transport Rules and Regulations which must be conducted in a competent, safe and law abiding manner with due consideration to an efficient and service-oriented environment.

To be successful in this role you must possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Medium or Heavy Rigid licence;
  • Hiab Truck Driving experience essential;
  • Physically fit and willing to do manual handling; 
  • Proven delivery and freight experience in a multi drop environment;
  • Current forklift licence; (preferred, but not essential);
  • Ability to work flexible hours which may include weekends;
  • Strong customer service focus;
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems;
  • Well-developed focus on safety within a logistics environment;
  • Ability to work unsupervised;
  • Full knowledge of federal and state road regulations including load restraint and fatigue management;
  • Maintain the professional approach of the Toll brand and ensure Toll Group policy and procedures are followed at all times;
