  • Part time 0.8 FTE (with the possibility to full time increase), ongoing position.
  • Based in Hobart.
  • Enhance graduate employment through contributing their knowledge to a range of associated activities and services.

The Academic Division is responsible for leading the drive for academic excellence, supporting the University College and Academic Colleges, Faculties, Institutes and Schools (hereafter collectively referred to as Colleges) in recruiting, retaining and encouraging an outstanding and diverse academic community.

The Opportunity

The Student Jobs Recruitment Officer will deliver consistent recruitment practices across all paid and unpaid student opportunities within the Student Experience portfolio and promote these to the broader University community. The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the University’s Student Jobs online portal Career Connect and assist with any other SLCDE industry engagement activities as required.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Deliver best practice recruitment for paid and unpaid opportunities for students and graduates.
  • Maintain the online systems that support the team’s employment services.
  • Present and organise paper and digital materials professionally for recruitment, industry engagement activities, marketing, education, evaluation, and reporting purposes.
  • Provide support to the SLCDE Industry Engagement activities such as career fairs, and employer information sessions.
  • Participate in other SLCDE or Student Experience, Retention and Success student focused activities, projects and programs.

Your Application

To be successful in the role, your application will need to demonstrate;

  • Experience in supporting or managing the recruitment and selection processes or completion of a diploma level qualification in Human Resources.
  • Excellent computing skills and experience in Excel, as well as competence in maintaining databases and/or customer service management systems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills including the ability to prioritise, solve problems and meet strict deadlines.
  • Experience in the preparation and dissemination of materials including reports and promotional material and have a high attention to detail.

Remuneration

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 5 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $90,723(pro-rata) comprising base salary within the range of $69,433 to $77,541 plus 17% superannuation(pro-rata).
