About the role

We are looking for an inspirational Crew Leader to build and motivate a productive and cohesive Potroom team at our Bell Bay Aluminium Smelter.

This is a great opportunity for an outstanding, enthusiastic and well respected person who has the ability to coach, support and mentor the team on the ground. You will deliver safe outcomes and provide guidance and governance whilst being able to adapt and respond to change.

Leading on the frontline is one of the most important jobs in our business and comes with a huge amount of responsibility. We need you to motivate, inspire and keep your people safe and well.

Reporting to the Superintendent South - Potrooms and working a 12 hour rotating roster, you will be:

  • A safety focused leader who has the capability to continuously develop and improve the culture of the team by displaying strong and inspiring leadership;
  • Modelling behaviours that will inspire and motivate team members to deliver excellence together;
  • Supporting the team in their training needs and development;
  • Displaying energy and tenacity to deliver results in a safe, sustainable manner;
  • Demonstrating problem solving skills or lean six sigma experience;
  • Able to hold team members accountable for their decisions and progress in developing a strong inclusive culture;
  • Ensuring the full capacity of each crew member is applied in sustaining and improving operations;
  • Able to display demonstrated implementation of safety or value initiatives.

What you’ll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Previous frontline leadership experience
  • Heavy industry experience would be well regarded but not essential
  • The ability to communicate with all levels of the organisation
