We have an exciting opportunity for a 1st year Fitting & Turning/ Maintenance Fitter Apprentice to work with our client who is one of Australasia's leading packaging and paper companies. Based in Launceston, we are looking for a motivated, committed and reliable person who is wanting to gain practical on the job experience, whilst receiving extensive training and a Certificate III Engineering-Mechanical Trade

What will you be doing?

• Preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance to achieve optimal operational requirements whilst maintaining safe work practices.
• Attending breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner
• Plant and machine upgrades
• Modification work as well as general facility maintenance
• Able to Understand Technical Drawings
• Mechanical Fitting
• Welding (ARC ,Mig,Oxy & Acetylene Cutting)
• Work as a team member
• Machining parts
• Maintain a clean workplace.

• Someone who is a team player, trustworthy and great work ethic
• A quick learner
• Computer skills
• Practical trade skills and/or relevant pre-apprenticeship
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team
