JOB DESCRIPTION

Glenorchy is Tasmania’s fourth largest city with a population of 46,790. The City lies on the western shore of the Derwent River, next to the City of Hobart. We have an exciting opportunity to recruit an Assistant Engineering Project Officer to commence their career in our Engineering Projects Team. In a supported learning environment, the successful candidate will develop skills and knowledge in infrastructure engineering related matters through mentoring from senior team members and structured workplace learning.

 The Candidate:

You must have a keen interest or experience in civil engineering or construction, engineering, and topographical surveying. Have a willingness to learn and grow in this role.

Qualifications: 

The successful candidate must have completed a Certificate IV in Drafting, Engineering or Civil design, or be currently enrolled to complete the Certificate IV or Diploma. 

Position Number: 100691

Position Hours: Full-time, 75 hours per fortnight. 

Salary:

Schedule A Salary Point 4 $55,853.45 to Salary Point 10 $76,283.44 in accordance with Glenorchy City Council’s Enterprise Agreement 2016. Commencing salary will be in accordance with the successful candidates’ qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to move within Salary Point 4 to Salary Point 10 upon completion of qualifications and work performance.
