The opportunity?

We are currently seeking a dynamic, customer focused Heavy Rigid delivery professional for an exciting new contract with one of the worlds most recognised brands. You will be operating out of our Launceston Dowling Street site working 8 to 12 hour shifts 5 days a week.

Although this position will initially be casual there will be an opportunity to transition to full time with Toll Tasmania for the right candidate.

Overall purpose of the job:

As a HR driver for this contract, you will be required to perform multiple drops along an assigned route in a timely, efficient, and safe manner. You will have strong customer service skills and be physically fit to ensure you are able to cope with the manual handling required in a safe manner.

These positions require a person who is a competent driver with the ability to work efficiently without direct supervision whilst outside the depot.

A sound knowledge of freight handling is essential.

These positions carry a responsibility for all aspects of Road Transport Rules and Regulations which must be conducted in a competent, safe, and law-abiding manner with due consideration to an efficient and service-oriented environment.

To be successful in this role you must possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Heavy Rigid licence.
  • Physically fit and willing to do manual handling with the ability to pass a full medical assessment (including drug and alcohol screening).
  • Proven delivery and freight experience in a multi drop environment.
  • Current forklift licence; (preferred, but not essential).
  • Ability to work flexible hours which includes weekends.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems.
  • Well-developed focus on safety within a logistics environment.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Full knowledge of federal and state road regulations including load restraint and fatigue management.
  • Maintain the professional approach of the Toll brand and ensure Toll Group policy and procedures are always followed.
