We need great people with a desire to start or continue a career within the Disability sector. We have a wide range of Hobart-based opportunities available in Residential and Community Based settings.

To be successful in this position you will have:

  • A friendly and supportive nature with a positive outlook on life.
  • A demonstrated positive attitude towards people with a disability.
  • A passion for encouraging and supporting people to be the best that they can be.
  • The ability to be creative and open minded as you assist people in achieving their goals.
  • The ability to work in a team environment.
  • Good basic money handling skills
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • IT literacy, including the ability to use email.
  • A current full or provisional driver’s licence.

Key tasks and duties:

  • Provide person-centred support to people living with a disability.
  • Provide a wide range of personal care services including meal preparation, dressing, personal hygiene, domestic cleaning and administering medication.
  • Help develop and implement care plans.
  • Implement skills and activity programs with limited supervision.
  • Provide encouragement and assistance to the people we support with their recreation, leisure activities, social interactions and access to community life.
  • Keep a record of significant daily events.
  • Work in shifts that vary in length with a range of morning, afternoon and weekend shifts including sleepovers. Shifts may include one-to-one support in the community, supporting people in their own homes and working in a residential setting.

For this position, you will need to obtain the following before starting:

  • Working with Vulnerable People Card (Employee/Volunteer status)
  • A satisfactory pre-employment health assessment
  • National police certificate
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module – ‘Quality, Safety and You’
