Tasmanian Government Jobs - Hobart, TAS

Health, Medical & Pharmaceutical
Source: uWorkin

Please note that we have amended this register for the period of the COVID-19 emergency response to enable former TSS Band 6 and Band 7 employees who have retired to apply. This will provide opportunities for agencies, as required to utilise a greater range of retired employees, at short notice, to assist in the COVID-19 response. Please note that after the COVID-19 response, the register will go back to its original form and any applicant who doesn’t meet the criteria will be removed.

About the Register

The Tasmanian State Service (TSS) recognises the value in retaining access to the specialist skills, knowledge and experience of former senior executive officers and senior employees.

The aim of the Register is to provide the TSS with a register of highly skilled and knowledgeable former senior executive officers and senior managers (Band 8 and above) who have retired, and who can return to the TSS to undertake short term specialist assignments. The register helps people in making a decision about retirement as this register provides a smooth process to retirement by enabling a connection to the workplace.

Appointment from the register is on a fixed-term basis limited to short-term assignments up to a maximum of six months. Assignments offered may be on a flexible work arrangement varying from casual to full-time.

Salary and Conditions

Applicants offered an appointment through the Register will be engaged as an employee under section 34 of the State Service Act 2000 and will be remunerated at an agreed level determined appropriate by the employing agency.

All appointments will be consistent with the salary and conditions contained within the relevant award.

The maximum salary payable under the Register is Tasmanian State Service Award (TSSA) Band 8, or equivalent. This is the maximum salary as people are coming back to work on specific assignments with no management responsibilities and not to undertake Senior Executive duties.
