JOB DESCRIPTION

Our Workshop Team are crucial to the consistent operation of our tours and transfers and bring with them valuable knowledge to keep our busy fleet out on the road.

This is a key position & plays a crucial role in the road to recovery for our business & tourism sector. We would love to hear from you!

As the Leading Hand, you’ll drive the maintenance of our modern fleet of 30 luxury Coaches at the Ayers Rock depot. Reporting to the National Technical Manager, this role will manage stock/parts, you’ll work closely with your counterpart in Alice Springs for efficiencies, parts & supplies, and you will organise vehicle inspections with Motor vehicle registry and all compliance matters.

The role involves

Manage and allocate duties for repairs, servicing and scheduled maintenance and ensure they are completed in a timely manner and to our stringent safety and quality standards;
Providing supervision and guidance for one diesel fitter;
Actively assisting with the day to day mechanical work, scheduled servicing & repairs/ breakdown;
Complete accurate Job cards detailing work performed
Other general repairs as required around the depot

We are looking for

Relevant heavy diesel trade qualification
Someone looking to expand their skill set including coach air conditioning & electrical (we can assist obtaining relevant handling licences)
Demonstrated ability to work in an autonomous role with sound leadership skills, and the ability to supervise others
Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills
Strong understanding of WHS regulations
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to learn systems/programs quickly
Be reliable, motivated and be able to work under pressure and changing priorities
Someone who maintains a safe work environment for staff & our guests

We will assist/ organise your accommodation at Ayers Rock for an agreed period;

Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience of up to $60/hour, plus 4 weeks annual leave, personal leave
On call allowance (rotating roster), tool allowance & PPE, uniforms & boots supplied
Investment in training with Scania and Cummins, and the opportunity to upgrade to a heavy vehicle licence
