About the roles
What you will bring
- Demonstrated understanding of the issues affecting culturally and linguistically diverse newly arrived communities, especially those with a refugee background
- Ability to assist with planning and coordinating information or training sessions
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds
- Understanding of health issues (including harmful traditional practices such as Female Genital Mutilation) that affect new arrivals and their connection to the Tasmanian health system
- Fluency in Dari and Farsi languages is essential for working with the Afghan and Hazara communities
- Fluency in Oromo language is essential for the position in Hobart
- Prior experience working with the above communities would be highly regarded
