The Motor Accidents Insurance Board (MAIB) is a Tasmanian Government Business Enterprise which operates Tasmania’s personal injury motor accident insurance scheme. The scheme provides no fault/statutory benefits, rehabilitation and lifetime support, and management of common law claims.

As part of a tight-knit team, you will look after MAIB's lifetime care and seriously injured clients. In this role you will work closely with the client and their families, aiding in the management of their rehabilitation plan with care providers.

A positive attitude is essential, you must work best in a team environment with an ability to work autonomously, have excellent judgement and decision making skills and a capacity to acquire and retain knowledge.

We are looking for a person who is comfortable in a complex, fast paced and process driven work environment working with some of our most vulnerable clients.

In this role you will:

  • Understand what matters most to people in their recovery and return to a meaningful life
  • Work with healthcare professionals to tailor individual recovery plans to meet the needs of the client
  • Deliver comprehensive claims management
  • Be confident, intelligent, and able to connect with and understand people
  • Proven capacity to make great decisions and apply judgement, initiative and discretion
  • Complete reporting and recommendations on claim status changes to ensure the best outcomes are achieved for the client and their families
  • Management of claim settlement process within defined financial authority
