The Company
Our client is a reputable Australian manufacturer and supplier, providing market leading building products to a large range of hardware stores and resellers across Australia and New Zealand. With many years of experience within the building industry, they pride themselves on delivering a high quality and innovative range of products along with exceptional customer service to Australian builders and tradies. Established in 1988, this family run business started off as a basic timber merchant in Tasmania and have since grown their client base to mainland Australia and NZ.
The Role
Reporting directly to the National Sales Manager, this role will see you take responsibility for managing procurement on behalf of the business, both local and overseas. You will ensure all materials are procured on time and on budget.
Supplier management is also a key component to this role, as products are sourced both nationally and internationally therefore you will be liaising with suppliers globally. Comparable experience within a previous role is highly attractive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Negotiating with suppliers regarding quality, pricing, terms, and delivery
  • Raising purchase orders and coordinating deliveries with suppliers
  • Receipting incoming stock
  • Negotiating with freight companies
  • Raising sales orders, processing invoices and emails to customers
  • Driving supply improvement processes
  • Managing accuracy of inventory levels
What we are looking for:
  • Previous experience as a Procurement Officer, or experience within the Procurement sector
  • Proven track record in dealing with suppliers, international and nationally
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to use own initiative and pay close attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational and time management
  • Proven knowledge of Excel, Word, ERP systems and databases
