Policy Advisor role, based in Hobart up to 3 days per week with a leading member driven organisation.
Your new company
Our client is an independent and credible voice representing Tasmanian's, they are a newer organisation building their voice in the sector they represent. They are seeking a part time Policy Advisor to join their team up to 3 days per week, based in Hobart.
Your new role
You will be responsible for, but not limited to the following;
Analysis, research and development of policy matters impacting consumers in the region
Proactive stakeholder engagement with members to develop policy positions
Preparing submissions to federal, state and local government
Developing media releases and key messages in collaboration with leadership
Drafting speeches and presentations for the CEO
Representing the region in meetings with federal, state and local government in conjunction with the CEO
Developing operating and strategic policy positions
What you'll need to succeed
Exceptional skills in policy development, research and analysis
Expertise in analysing policy issues and recommending advocacy positions
Effective stakeholder skills with all levels of government and industry
Demonstrated experience in communications and media relations
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Keen interest in monitoring the legislative and political process and environment
Tertiary qualifications in public policy, economics, business, law or similar
