Your Opportunity Mission Austalia's Disability Employment Service helps people with a disability, injury or health condition to find a job and continues to support them while they transition to ongoing employment. The service also supports employers with training and assistance to maintain the relationship - including wage subsidies, and workplace modifications. Our team in Burnie are currently looking for a Jobseeker Support Coordinator to promote and support the growth of this service. This is a permanent position, based in Burnie and covering the North West / West Coast and Smithton regions with a mixture of office-based and outreach work. The role will include significant travel throughout the area, with the occasional overnight stay required. Initially working three days per week (9.00am - 5.00pm) there is potential for hours to increase to full time dependent on workload. Responsibilities include:
  • Assisting job seekers to gain sustainable employment
  • Provision of post-placement support to both job seekers and employers
  • Sales and marketing activities to promote the service and drive placements
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Participation in community events, expos and forums; establishment of networks
Requirements for Success With an established background in employment services or a similar field, you will be a confident and capable sales professional, priding yourself on your ability to work from a strengths-based framework. Your capabilities will include:
  • Ability to establish rapport and build relationships quickly and effectively with both jobseekers, employers and potential employers
  • Facilitation of ongoing support and connectedness between job seekers and their employer - ensuring requirements are being met
  • Confidence to establish and maintain strong networks within the community - participating in events and forums to cement relationships
  • A flexible, “can do” attitude and ability to be responsive and agile in a highly diverse role
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage, advise and influence
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills; able to juggle multiple tasks at once
  • Outside the box thinking - creating and implementing new sources of client streams
  • Intermediate level understanding of Microsoft Suite and the ability to learn new systems
  • A degree in Health, Disability, Human Resources or similar field would be beneficial
  • Current Tasmania Drivers Licence
  • Valid RWVP Registration
